The Team

Marielle Boland - Writer/Director/EP

Marielle Boland was born in her bathtub in Berkeley, CA 24 years ago. She has had a lifelong passion for filmmaking because to her, it’s the only true form of magic. After losing her loved ones at a young age, she realized how valuable memories are, which cemented her urge to use film as a way to tell stories that don’t go away. Marielle has always had a passion to amplify hushed voices through her work.

Starting in high school. Marielle’s films have been circulating and winning in the festival circuit. She graduated from UCLA’s film program in 2019 upon completing her senior thesis film Supernova, which includes themes of female friendship, mental health, and grief. After graduation, she stayed in Los Angeles and started working in production at various companies, learning more about the industry.

Currently, she’s living in New York directing music videos, shooting fashion photos, and working on her soon-to-be anthology series, The Bitch Diaries. Marielle’s videos have been featured in publications such as Nylon, Paper Magazine, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, and her film Supernova is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
